Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Fixed Term contract until March 2021



What you’ll do


We are currently seeking a part qualified Assistant Financial Accountant to join our busy team in Cannock, Staffordshire. This role reports to the Fixed Asset Manager and you will be required to build key relationships with stakeholders, who have ownership of their own contract’s assets. The role is responsible for ensuring the accurate management of the UK Group’s centralised asset processes including fixed assets, leases and capital expenditure, plus reporting of Group fixed assets.

 

You will:

 

  • Actioning all asset requests in an accurate and timely manner, according to set SLA’s, including the physical verification (rolling programme) of assets, the Financial Accounting reporting for Group consolidation tool (Vector Magnitude) and the Financial Accounting reporting for UK Statutory Accounts (IFRS)

  • Be responsible for Balance Sheet reconciliation and justification for asset related accounts and maintaining the CapEx Request Platform and transferring the data to SAP  

  • Process asset commissioning, acquisitions, transfers, disposals, lease postings etc. through SAP and create Asset Records, validating WBS Elements within the SAP System 

  • Participate in the move from incumbent ERP system (SAP) to Workday, adhere to company and Finance policies, processes, procedures and timetables, as well as all other reporting for own contracts


This role is being offered as a fixed term position, until March 2021.



The experience you will need


You will be a part qualified ACCA (F1-9 done) or CIMA Accountant (Management Level complete), ideally with knowledge of SAP or dedicated Fixed Asset software preferred, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.

 

You must be able to work unsupervised, in an organised way, whilst still being committed to delivering within set, stringent and demanding deadlines. Accuracy is key, as is an organised approach and the ability to manage several coterminous tasks.

 

Strong inter-personal skills are required to liaise confidently with other parts of the Business and an awareness of how to produce related Financial and Statutory asset notes. An innovative and pro-active nature is desired, with an inquiring and analytical mind, and be able to demonstrate good attention to detail.

The role based in our offices in Kingswood, Cannock, Staffordshire and our custom-built facility acting as a centre of support services for the business affording a great opportunity to build a strong internal network, as you carry out your day to day role.
