Job Title - Chargehand
Salary - £26,132.60 **** plus Veolia benefits *listed below
Location - Veolia, Newtown Road HWRC, Newtown Road, Newbury, RG20 9AG
Hours - Full time, 47.5 hour week, 5 days out of 7 on a 7-week rolling rota
What you’ll do
You will be working at the Household Waste Recycling Centres providing excellent customer service and recycling advice to the public and creating a safe place to visit and work. Cleaning and tidying of the site, sorting of materials and deputising for the supervisor in their absence. Other duties include:
Managing a team of operatives
Running of the site in the Supervisor's absence
Opening and closing the site depending on which shift you are working
Maintaining site safety and rules, and efficient use of available resources
Supporting with problem-solving and making sure daily checks are completed
Resolving any customer concerns and escalating site operations issues where needed
The experience you will need
Experience within a similar team leader role
Good communication skills are required, along with good customer service skills.
Good IT skills
Knowledge of Health & Safety

Where you’ll work
Working at our HWRC site in Newbury, you will be assisting the supervisor to ensure site compliance, and ensuring the 8 operatives fulfil their daily tasks satisfactorily.
