Are you an innovative, imaginative and practically minded Electrical Design Engineer looking for an exciting challenge in the nuclear industry?


Veolia Nuclear Solutions (UK) Ltd. delivered the world’s first remote handling equipment to operate inside a nuclear fusion reactor. The business is staffed by an amazing group of uniquely-skilled designers, engineers and assemblers who are developing and delivering solutions to some of the most complex projects, which currently includes, in the UK (Dounreay Shaft and Silo, Sellafield ponds), in Europe (ITER and CERN) and in Japan (Fukushima, Unit 2)


We are looking to expand our electrical design team and you will be producing electrical designs to support existing and new projects with involvement through build and commissioning of systems. 

You will have -

A Degree level qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline, recognised by the Engineering Council as satisfying the education requirement for IEng or CEng.

Membership of an appropriate engineering institution.

A minimum of two years post-graduate experience working in an engineering design capacity.

Experience designing motor control systems using an electrical design software package to produce schematics, schedules, parts list, component layout and associated deliverables.

It would also be helpful if you have -

Experience working in a highly regulated industry.

Experience of BS 7671, BS 60204, BS 13849.

Awareness of project reporting requirements.

Enrolment on a professional development scheme with an engineering institution.


The position will be filled at Graduate Engineering career grade with a starting salary depending on experience. 

You will be eligible to join the company Stakeholder pension scheme to which the company contributes a sum equivalent to 5% of the annual basic salary.  Other benefits include 26 days annual leave rising by 1 day per completed year of service up to a maximum of 31 plus 8 statutory Bank Holidays.  Three days of the leave are used to allow for a Christmas shutdown.  Bonus scheme, private annual health checks and professional fees are also part of the package.
