Salary: £31,972 - £42,224 (plus London weighting) depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance

Working Pattern: Permanent | 37 hours | Full Time with Flexible working patterns available

About the Department

SSE Power Distribution, part of the SSE group, owns and operates two electricity distribution networks and one transmission network, comprising some 123,000 substations and 127,000km of overhead lines and underground cables, distributing electricity to 3.5 million homes and businesses in the North of Scotland and Southern England.

What is the Role

The main responsibility of the Internal Resource Manager is to manage a team of industrial staff making sure as a team you deliver a great customer service performance whilst meeting and exceeding customer and regulator expectations. You'll monitor performance of SHE, welfare, compliance, team capabilities and the training portfolio of your team. You'll do this by tracking, monitoring and managing this daily and you'll look to improve productivity whilst still making sure work is completed and recorded to a high standard. You'll also look after team areas such as absence, holidays and capability to ensure enough staff are available to meet the programme of work.

As an Internal Resource Manager, you'll be responsible for the team who will deliver agreed new connections, reinforcement works and supply and network restoration at low voltage and up to 33,000 volts. This will include ensuring all delivery requirements are met, such as guaranteed standards, regulatory reporting through SSEN IT systems, excellent customer service and communication throughout the delivery process.

What do I need?

You'll ideally have experience of managing a team previously and if you have industry knowledge of how a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) operates and generates revenue and incentives within the current price control period even better. You'll have technical knowledge of electricity distribution or a similar market sector along with an awareness of the key stakeholders and customers involved in electricity distribution.

You'll have strong stakeholder engagement skills so that you can communicate with people at all levels and make sure work is always progressing. You should be competent in your IT skills so that you're able to review data to assess performance and be able to produce presentations for rolling out vital information to your team.

Due to the travel required you will need to have a full driving licence so that you can adequately cover the Thames Valley region.
