What is the Role
We are looking to recruit experienced and talented change professionals to help deliver our exciting and varied portfolio. A key component of that is the delivery of our 'IT Strategy which is a key strategic enabler of business growth and critical for ensuring our IT infrastructure is robust, resilient and up to date. Shaping, planning and mobilising for successful delivery are critical so we can deliver the right outcome at the right time for the right price. We are looking for Business Partners to drive and shape the portfolio of the IT programmes / projects within the Groups IT Strategy (and other key IT initiatives as appropriate).
You'll initiate projects, develop the business case to secure funding, and manage project activities and associated controls required to establish them within the Group IT Transformation Programme roadmap.
What do I need?
Effective use of the IT budget against business needs, formation of a realistic benefits case and driving governance forums are all key parts of the role. As well as experience of all stages of the IT development lifecycle, you'll bring strong experience of having successfully led IT portfolios in a large organisation and will demonstrate a comprehensive breadth and depth of knowledge and experience of working in a complex project environment. You'll either have already, or demonstrate the ability to quickly gain, knowledge of the SSE IT Project development process. Additionally, you'll facilitate and secure agreement to improvements where required.
Alongside your excellent knowledge transfer skills to a proven professional level, you'll show a systematic and methodical approach to problem solving. Your proactive approach, strong communication skills and your ability to take ownership of problems and requests in a pressurised environment will all facilitate your ability to work effectively through others, planning both their and your own time.
You'll need to demonstrate the ability to visualise and articulate proposed solutions to business problems and form judgements based on logical conclusions drawn from the available facts. Your excellent interpersonal skills will aid you in influencing the business and facilitating agreements. Your excellent stakeholder management will enable you to work effectively with all levels of the organisation, including senior management and executive level.
