The role of Maintenance Technician sits in Hatfield Moor within the Liberalised UK business. In this role you will be responsible for the maintenance and engineering work at the Hatfield Gas Storage Facility, delivery cost effective maintenance practices to support the business needs, whilst adhering to the company Health & Safety policy (including Control of Major Accident Hazards – COMAH). You will also support Technical Risk Management processes by utilising reporting tools to accurately record and assess Maintenance and Service activities.
•Responsible for carrying out planned and breakdown maintenance on all Control & Instrumentation systems works at Hatfield Moor Gas Storage Facility and ensure site issues are progressed effectively
•Act as Technical Coordinator for Functional Safety
•Assisting the COMAH & Asset Engineer on projects to improve, reliability, flexibility and replacement of assets and assist in the COMAH Governance Programme.
•Assist in the implementation of the site business plan, identifying plant improvements and modifications, preparing and managing relevant contracts
•Undertake roles and responsibilities as defined in Management Instructions during planned and unplanned Maintenance events
•Develop and support, short, medium and long term strategies to improve Maintenance efficiencies
•Ensure consistent high levels of House-keeping and Safety along with best practice maintenance across the site
•Provide supervision of designated people during plant overhauls.
•Ensure maintenance plans and targets for are achieved safely, on time, at or below budget, to the correct quality and within the environmental limits of the station.
•Support and deliver the Process Safety KPI’s associated with areas of responsibility.
•Creation, development and implementation of plant maintenance routines to achieve optimum plant availability.
•Carry out fault-finding on all plant and apparatus and arrange for repairs through site staff and specialist contractors.
•Plan and organise activities of self and peers for weekly work routines to achieve effective use of available resources.
•Specify, source and procure spare parts and consumables as required to maintain site stores stock levels.
Skills and Requirements
•Experience in Maintenance activities within a large Industry (gas storage, process plant or generating plant desirable)
•Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. health & safety, environment and employment law
•Sound knowledge of budgets and contract management.
•Educated to ONC/HNC standard or equivalent qualifications and experience in Control & Instrumentation
•IOSH Entry Level Qualification to Managing Safely
•Proactive and creative approach to fault diagnosis and problem solving
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate as a minimum:
•Experience in Maintenance activities within a large Industry (Process Plant, CCGT, or generating plant desirable)
•Educated to ONC/HNC standard (or equivalent qualifications) and experience in Control & Instrumentation
•Knowledge of Managing and Maintaining Functional Safety Systems
•Sound IT skills
•Understanding of financial, procurement and contractual processes
•Valid Driving Licence
•Flexibility in working arrangements where required, and being on call where necessary

This is a Permanent contract. Salary for this role will be from £34,600 per annum.
