Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to take on the important role of Process Technician on a secondment basis for a period of up to 12 months. This will be working over the South London water production area. This area covers from Dartford to Epson which includes clean water Treatment works, Reservoirs and Booster stations.
As the successful candidate, you will be working alongside a multiskilled team who are passionate about delivering results and great service for our customers.
You will also perform a range of assigned front-line activities including operation, testing, routine checks, maintenance, maintaining site cleanliness, and problem-solving to ensure that services are delivered to time, cost, and quality standards.  This will include planned and preventative maintenance of equipment to support the operation of the plant.
Base Location: Orpington WTW – BR6-0SQ.
Working Pattern or hours: Monday-Friday 7:30-15:36, 38 hours per week including working on a call-out rota every 6 weeks where you will receive additional payment.
What you’ll be doing as a Process Technician
  • Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
  • Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to ensure on-site operational and health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Completing statutory reservoir rounds
  • Attending reactive jobs following plant and equipment failure.
  • Keeping sites clean and tidy and undertaking safety and security checks.
  • Always working safely and complying with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures
  • Trained up to be working on and around chemical gas.
  • Working on a call-out rota 1 in 6.
What you should bring to the role
  • Be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves into the team around them, you need to be very disciplined have the desire to learn from those around you and have a can-do attitude. This role can be demanding at times but very rewarding too.
  • Take Ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to fully understand the problem, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to interact with the team.
  • Teamwork – We are one team, and our end goals are the same.
  • Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
  • Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.
  • Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving licence is essential.
