Pennon Water Services (PWS) is the water retailer for non-household customers of Bournemouth Water and South West Water. PWS incorporates Aquacare, a water hygiene specialist to offer our customers Value Added Services (VAS) making PWS stand out from competitors in the market.

Pennon Water Services is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated staff member to work field based in Walsall, Cambridge and surrounding areas.

What will you be doing?

Joining our team, the Regional Account Handler will ensure financial viability of PWS through collecting payments and applying the appropriate intervention for each commercial customer to maximise the level payments collected.

You will negotiate the payment of overdue bills or outstanding payments via inbound and outbound telephone calls, in writing and where necessary attend customers’ premises. You will carry out disconnection surveys, identifying key points relating to the disconnection of the water supply; advising customers of commercial disconnection procedure in line with company policy.

The Regional Account Handler will ensure visits fees are charged in accordance with Pennon Water Service Visit Fee procedure and accurately update customers’ accounts with relevant charges, effectively communicating with customers to establish the reasons for arrears and identify suitable and realistic solutions.

The scope of this role is field-based working with nationwide customers and operates during office hours, out of hours and weekends.

What do you need?

  • Previous experience of working in field-based credit and debt management role,
  • Experience of negotiating debt and credit control
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal along with listening and questioning skills
  • Demonstrate excellent levels of customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage difficult customer situations
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
