As a SAP Engineering Lead, you will be in charge of the SAP Engineering team, providing an in-house devleopment capability, ensuring that developments meet requirements and any other activities of the team. You will be responsible for ensuring developed products are implementing quality standards set and commitments are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of up-to 10 direct reports
  • SAP programming experience is essential, as is leading a team of developers/software engineers.
  • Collaborate, support, advise and guide all Product Owners, Test/QA Leads, helping to create future product development iterations and identifying improvements across product lines to improve the efficiency, robustness and user experience of products.
  • Ensuring all stated directives including principles, standards and patterns as set out by the planning teams are adhered to and implemented within all developments.
  • Designing developmental patterns and standards, working with the planning teams to advise on and update the directives libraries as part of a continual improvement cycle.
  • Leading on 3rd party product developments and integrations, advising and sharing directives to ensure development works are to standard, well documented and understood end to end.
  • Working within development sprints using an agile software delivery model, across multiple product lines and developments. Undertaking accurate work estimations, working to sprint commitments, and contributing to sprint retrospectives and demonstrations as part of an incremental and iterative approach to product development.
  • Ensuring that all security specific standards, policies and patterns are adhered to without deviation and to escalate to the Digital Risk & Security team for advice and guidance when there is misalignment between such standards, policies, patterns and development requirements.

Skills and Experience

 

  • Experienced SAP Engineering Manager with extensive understanding & proven ability in the SAP Engineering space.
  • Lead & manage internal SAP engineering teams utilising ABAP, Portal, FIORI, WorkZone and BTP engineering skills.  Experience with DevSecOps desirable.
  •  Deep SAP technical / engineering experience, with a strong command of industry trends. 
  • Knowledge of working in Cloud environments & deploying solutions within AWS is desirable. 
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. 
  • Knowledge of Scada, ESRI and/or Click an advantage.
